Dr. William Clark is a leading expert in nonprofit sustainability, fundraising strategies, and leadership development. With over 15 years of experience in city government, nonprofit administration, and public housing operations, he has dedicated his career to empowering nonprofit leaders and helping organizations secure diverse revenue streams to achieve long-term sustainability.
As the CEO of Eli Patrick & Co., a trusted consulting firm based in Hartford, CT, Dr. Clark advises nonprofit organizations on strategic fundraising, leadership development, and organizational growth. His passion for sustainability has helped more than 250 nonprofits raise over $900 million in grants and government contracts, driving financial stability and mission advancement.
Before founding Eli Patrick & Co., Dr. Clark held key leadership roles that shaped his expertise. As Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Career Resources, Inc., he expanded workforce development programs and developed earned-income ventures to strengthen financial sustainability. As Director of the Workforce Solutions Collaborative, he led transformative grant-making efforts to support job seekers and promote economic empowerment. Earlier, as Assistant Managing Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity for the City of Philadelphia, he helped create over $1.5 billion in economic opportunity for minority-, women-, and veteran-owned businesses.
In addition to his consulting work, Dr. Clark is a respected lecturer and author, known for his books “Leadership Development in Your Nonprofit” and “Sustainability: Developing a Sustainable Faith-Based or Nonprofit Organization.” He also founded the Change Maker Forum, a platform for nonprofit leaders to connect, collaborate, and grow.
Beyond his work with nonprofits, Dr. Clark serves as Senior Pastor of Second Baptist Church in New Britain, CT, combining his passion for leadership, faith, and community impact.
Dr. Clark holds a Doctor of Strategic Leadership from Regent University and a Master of Leadership Developmentfrom Penn State University.
